How do I get my MGM Rewards win/loss statement and W-2G forms?

By the W2gMatch team · Sources checked 09-11-2026 · General information, not tax advice.

MGM Resorts requires its own signed W2G/1042S Tax Summary Request form, mailed or faxed; the summary is mailed to the address on your MGM Rewards account. The steps below were read from MGM Rewards' own help page on 09-05-2026. The statement covers play tracked on your players club card; W-2Gs for reportable wins come separately, and the IRS already holds a copy of each.

What MGM Rewards issues, and when

A casino issues a Form W-2G at the machine or table for a jackpot at or above the reporting threshold ($2,000 for slots, bingo and keno in 2026), card in or not, and the IRS receives a copy. Its win/loss statement covers only play tracked on a players club card.

Separately, MGM Rewards provides an annual win/loss statement of play tracked on the players club account, by property, usually with the W-2G total shown separately. [1] For the 2025 tax year, MGM completes requests only after its IRS submissions at the end of March, then within about two weeks. Borgata and BetMGM outside Nevada must be contacted separately.

How to get the statement

MGM Resorts requires its own signed W2G/1042S Tax Summary Request form, mailed or faxed; the summary is mailed to the address on your MGM Rewards account.

  1. Download the W2G/1042S Tax Summary Request form and print it.
  2. Fill it in by hand in black or blue ink: tax year, name, date of birth, MGM Rewards number, the last four digits of your SSN, phone, and tick each property you played at.
  3. Sign it. MGM does not process an unsigned form.
  4. Mail it to the address on the form or fax it to 702-669-6121.
  5. Allow about two weeks. The summary is mailed to the address on your MGM Rewards account; Save it for your preparer.

The request asks for your signature, date of birth, the last four digits of your SSN, your players club number.

These steps were read from MGM Rewards' own page on 09-05-2026. [1] Operators move these pages; if a step no longer matches, the help page is the place to start.

If you cannot sign in

MGM Rewards also takes requests by a request form on the operator's site; fax to 702-669-6121; post to GAA - Accounting & Tax, Finance Shared Services Center, MGM Resorts International, 880 Grier Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89119. [1] Allow two to four weeks for a mailed statement.

What the statement shows, and what it does not

The statement is a summary of play tracked on your players club card. Cash play without the card is not on it and cannot be added later; a casino has no record of it. If you played at MGM Rewards without a card, the only record of those losses is your own log. It usually carries a note that it is an estimate and not a tax document. The IRS asks for a contemporaneous diary supported by records such as statements and tickets; the statement supports the diary rather than replacing it. [2] [3]

Read it with the W-2Gs. A W-2G reports one reportable win and the IRS already holds a copy; the statement reports the net of the year's play. The two measure different things and are expected to disagree, and a return has to show how they fit. The reconciliation page walks through it.

When is the MGM Rewards statement for last year available?

For the 2025 tax year, MGM completes requests only after its IRS submissions at the end of March, then within about two weeks. Borgata and BetMGM outside Nevada must be contacted separately.

Does MGM Rewards have a record of my play if I did not use a players club card?

No. A casino's win/loss statement is built from play tracked on a players club account. Play without the card is anonymous to the casino and cannot be reconstructed. Jackpots at or above the W-2G threshold are still reported, card or no card. For uncarded play your own session log is the only record of the losses.

Is the MGM Rewards win/loss statement enough for my return?

Not on its own. The IRS asks for a contemporaneous diary of winnings and losses supported by records, and the statement is one of those records. Statements from every operator you used, the W-2Gs and 1099s, and your own log together let a preparer show winnings, show losses, and explain every difference between the documents and the forms the IRS matched.

How can I access my MGM Rewards win/loss statement online?

You can typically access your MGM Rewards win/loss statement by logging into your MGM Rewards account on the MGM Resorts website, navigating to the tax or win/loss statement section, and following the prompts to generate and download it. This method provides immediate access to your gambling activity summary.

What specific session details are available on an MGM Rewards win/loss statement?

MGM Rewards win/loss statements, especially those accessed online, can provide granular session details including the date, resort, game type (slot/table), start and end times, machine number, coin-out, coin-in, jackpots, and total win/loss for each session, as reported by players on forums like Las Vegas Advisor.

How do I use my MGM Rewards win/loss statement for tax purposes?

Your MGM Rewards win/loss statement is a crucial record for tax purposes, helping you accurately report gambling income and support any claimed wagering loss deductions on Schedule A, as outlined by IRS Topic 419. It summarizes your tracked play, but must be combined with W-2G forms and other records.

Can I deduct all my gambling losses using an MGM Rewards win/loss statement?

For tax year 2026, recreational gamblers may deduct 90% of wagering losses, up to the amount of total gambling winnings, as an itemized deduction on Schedule A, as per IRS guidelines. An MGM Rewards win/loss statement helps document these losses, but the deduction cannot exceed your reported winnings.
