After the extension deadline
Extended 2025 returns were due October 15, 2026. If yours is not filed yet, talk to your tax professional; a preparer needs the same four documents listed below, whenever the return goes in.
If it is filed, the records that matter now are the ones for 2026, the first year under the 90% loss rule.

It reads the form and files it to the right tax year.
Your sessions, places and W-2Gs are filed as you go. At tax time, hand it off: the assistant reconciles them with your casino statements and IRS transcript in one file.

Each operator issues its own, from the players club desk or the app's tax documents page. The statements are what substantiate the losses line.
Daily fantasy, prediction markets and payment apps report separately from W-2Gs. They are on the transcript too.
Dates, places, amounts in and out. It fills the gaps the statements leave.
The paid file, one click away
W-2Gs and statements are filed to the year as they arrive, so the 2026 return starts reconciled in January, under the 2026 loss rules. Filing 2025 late, or amending it? The same file works for 2025.
Essential covers up to 3 casinos or sportsbooks; a bigger season upgrades for the difference. One-time payment for the tax year, no subscription. Document organization, not tax advice; a licensed preparer reviews and files the return. All plans.
The 90% loss limit starts with tax year 2026. A 2025 return still deducts losses in full up to winnings, if you itemize and can document them. From 2026, only 90% of losses count.
The 2026 file is built as the year goes. A session written down the same night, a players card used on every visit and a photo of each W-2G as it is won are what a preparer works from in January.
Upload what you have. W2gMatch matches every statement to its W-2Gs and produces one file a preparer can work from, ready for January.
